Main characters:

  • Hibiki Kanzaki – the reporter;
  • Ishtar – alien;
  • Silvie Gena – military girl;

After some time passed from all Macross events situation starts to repeat itself. People are living peaceful and happy life – partly because military is covering everything and people know only the things that are passed through them. That means people believe that their military can do everything and is invincible though its not.

One brave and a bit outrageous reporter tries to uncover everything and during that he meets a cute singing emulator alien, that leads other aliens to the war with her songs. Hibiki shows the world of happy and joyful songs to the Ishtar, so she decides to bring that to her people and stop them from killing. Though the “big boss” is against it and tries to kill humans and some of his own people in the way. But they go against it.

Ishtar sings a love song that brings her people to senses and they end the war. On that time Hibiki and Silvie falls in love (though a bit pushed way here, somehow its so not right..).

Something that I liked was actually drawing – pretty detailed and kinda nice. Other thing was the feelings enemy guy Fiff (who knows nothing else than war and fighting) had for Ishtar – he was a true warrior, who knows nothing more than his job, but eventually he went against it because of her, he saved her (well even when it was not necessary) a lot of times. And he finds a right way in the end..

well everything else wasn’t that bad or good (though eng dub that I had was horrible..). I didn’t like the main love idea of Silvie and Hibiki – was so not real, and some other details that I will not mention.. In the end its not so bad (well probably only drawing and Ishtar with Fiff saves this ova). But even the music (which is one of the main ideas of all this Macross thing) wasn’t really great..
